Subliminal Target

Reviews

Honestly, without giving away anything, I have to say that I would have been disappointed had the book ended differently. It really was a good, easy read. The characters and the plot kept you interested and its one of those stories that you can pick up and read every chance you get, and want to do so. In other words, even if you don’t have a lot of time to sit and read, this book keeps you interested to want to get back and finish it. Would recommend it!

WOW! Mr. Cooper changed things up a bit in this book! I love a good suspense, and this was fantastic! Kept me guessing throughout most of the book. Having loved 2 other books by this author, I was very excited to get a copy of this, Mr. Cooper did NOT disappoint! Once again, I read the book and wanted the story to keep going! He has a superb way of pulling the reader in to the story and making you feel like you are right there with the characters. Another great book from a great author, I look forward to more!!

What a page turner!! Details by this author are always impeccable.
This story pulls you in, keeps you guessing and hoping your main characters get through this..
In the end you are rooting for the underdog investigator to come out on top AND win the girl.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book – completely different from Mr. Cooper’s others.
Wouldn’t even mind a sequel…….

Another great book by Mr. Cooper. Superb storytelling, suspense, twists and turns on every page, made this an exceptional read. I couldn’t put the book down, I was so caught up in the drama I needed to read more to see what happened. If you like suspense novels this is a must read. I guarantee you won’t regret it.

As I’ve mentioned in my other review’s of this author’s works, I’ve known Curt for a very long time. When you share cubicle space with a man for 15 years, you get a good look into his head. So it is no surprise that I recognized some of the mannerisms of the main character as being those of the author himself.
The story is straight forward, told from the point of view of Alex Beck, the detective who is trying to figure out why there has been a sharp rise in murder-suicide cases. It follows the tropes of the hard-boiled detective novel, with a murder, a pretty woman seeking his help, and a heaping helping of action. However, this is not a hard-boiled detective story. It is more a mash up between that genre and a romantic comedy. Curt, I think the Hallmark channel is starting to rub off on you . . .
Anyway, the wise-cracking, crime solving detective, whose musical tastes also remind me of the author is fun to read. The sarcasm in the dialogue may be over the top, and the detective (seemingly) figuring out the means by which the crimes are happening within the first 50 pages had me rolling my eyes, but did not detract from a fun story.
