Curtis Cooper’s “Choosing Fate” is a well written, deeply moving short story which takes place during the holiday season. The leading man, Sam, gets a huge lesson in life from his employee and friend, Carrie, and a preteen boy named Billy, who lives in a nearby orphan’s home. It’s a great read, but short. My only complaint is that it’s not very long. I read it in less than 20 minutes!
