I have read nearly every book this Author has written. What I love 
the most about his work is that each piece is entirely authentic. I read A LOT and you start to notice the trends, in every book. You are reading, only half being entertained because you know pretty much exactly what is coming next. This is not true with Mr. Cooper. He always bring you a unique or unexpected perspective or twist to the story. This book, though it is a sequel is no different. I highly recommend the first in the series, but this one is a story all onto its own as well. He takes you into the lives of his characters in such a way that you can feel as if you were living there with them, a close observer. He has a way of taking you back to better days in this book. He very accurately portrays small town life, but does so in a way that engrosses the reader, makes them want to be a part of it. With the fast paced life of today and the mass amount of fast paced thrillers or sci fi novels available today, this book really did bring me a sense of nostalgia. This is the kind of book you can grab that cup of tea or hot chocolate, grab your favorite blanket and snuggle up and enjoy being brought back to a time where things were more simple, people more sincere and obstacles can be overcome with a little support from those around you. Highly recommend.

Nate…. He was really despicable at the beginning but he grew in my heart (and Trisha’s) real soon!
I really like Curtis’ writing style. His characters are real and well developed!

Awesome second story, after Straight from the Heart. Mr. Cooper has a way of putting you “right there with the characters”. I like that he explores very real, and touchy subjects. Most writers seem to shy away from these subjects, especially with a happy ending! By far Mr Cooper is one of my favorite authors, and I look forward to reading many more of his stories! I am not typically a romance novel reader, but this series has me captivated! Thank you, sir, again for an awesome story and great characters! Am already excited about book 3…??…Hope there is one coming!

Curtis A, Cooper’s sequel to Straight From the Heart is another winner. The author brings two complex characters together in well thought out – and often very surprising – ways. It’s a romance, and much more. A homeless girl is more than she appears to be at first glance. As it turns out, so too is a construction worker. If you like romance, get this book. If you like people, get this book. If you like drama, get this book. In other words, don’t miss this book.

A must read. This sequel is very engrossing, so much so I had difficulty putting it down right from the start. I found myself wanting the characters to to be happy and when problems arose I wanted them to work out. This book is definitely not a typical love story, the author has his own interesting style in all of his books.
