Banking on Life

Reviews

Mr. Cooper has done it again, he never ceases to grab the reader and keep one interested till the end! As a long time fan, I am always excited to know another book is coming out, no matter what the subject. Inspirational books are not my usual choice, but as I have faith in the author, I bought this one. Yes, he delivered. Wonderful story, very real and true to life. I felt like this could be any one of my friends or neighbors. I like very much that he included some interesting facts in the story as well. I would definitely recommend this book for a feel good, pick me up read!! Even if you don’t need a pick me up….read it!!!!

You know a great Author when they can write in any genre and do it well. I love how Mr. Cooper tied it all in together and that the voice Eric heard in his mind went back to when Jake had said a prayer. I had to go back and read that part again which I love when an author makes me have to do that… I have read several of Curtis A. Cooper’s other books and would highly recommend that readers take a look for those. Waiting for his next book and hoping it comes out sooner than later.

It’s great to see another Curt Cooper book out for us to read. His books keep getting better, and they were great to start with. What a super story line. A church going wife, an agnostic husband, and a family lost, depending on one another. for their very lives. Super drama, super characters and super action. Don’t miss this one.

I just finished reading Banking on Life by Curtis Cooper,  if anybody feels as though they need or could benefit by a reality wake-up call, go on Amazon or use your Kindle to get this story. It’s a story that involves authentic characters involved in realistic family situations, similar to which many of us could find ourselves in.  He tells how an accident and encounters with wildlife and nature during a camping trip bring a family together. Throughout the story, the author weaves the theme and importance of believing in a loving and caring creator.

Very inspirational story about a family of 4 and their struggles and challenges they have to face. Everything from parents learning how to communicate with each other again to typical teenager issues and real life or death drama. Love how he ties everything together with faith, and without giving away too much I especially loved how he wrote the church scenes and was able to relate a sermon to your day to day challenges. Great characters, exceptional story, everything you would hope for in a book.

Faith and Hope. A modern family must find both to re-connect with each other and what’s important in life.
This is a tale of faith both lost and found, and the journey back to wholeness of a family on the verge of unraveling. Jake Farnsworth sees his family of four drifting apart, and plans a camping trip to rekindle a sense of togetherness. At odds with his wife’s dedicated involvement with her church, and his son and daughter indifferent to just about everything, Jake is a man whose inner compass has begun to lose its true north. However, nature has other plans than providing the Farnsworths with just a pleasant hike through the woods. When the camping trip becomes a life or death situation, true love and true faith bring out the best in everyone and heal a hurting family unit.
As an ‘inspirational’ read, this novel certainly ticks all the boxes, and adds in a thriller element for good measure. While at times unrealistic, the plight of this family and the dangers they face keeps the pages turning. However, a little less detail and a bit more research into back-country camping requirements would have made the story tighter and more believable. But in the end, finding renewed purpose and re-establishing a loving family relationship through such trials sends a joyful and inspirational message that tugs at the reader’s heart and brings a satisfying happy ending.
